Seasoned Crossfitters, or any athlete who lifts for that matter, understand the benefits of pull ups and bar work for overall athletic ability, physique, and functional strength. The problem is, as you get better, faster, stronger your muscular strength will eventually be more than your hands can handle on their own. Pushing the envelope can lead to tears of the hands, and inevitably get in the way of training.
One good way to combat this is to use a good quality athletic tape to wrap your hands. Wrapping your hands in preparation of bar work done right will keep your hands from tearing and, more importantly, keep you training.
